The Center Clinic
The Center Clinic is a community mental health center housed within the George Washington University’s Professional Psychology Program in Washington, D.C. The nonprofit clinic is staffed by clinical externs who are advanced doctoral students in the Professional Psychology Program. Externs are supervised by licensed, highly experienced professionals.
We provide short-term and long-term mental health services to patients who may not otherwise have access to needed care. Our goal is to provide comprehensive, quality mental health services at low cost through our sliding-scale fees. We work with a variety of populations, including college students, children and adolescents, adults with career and personal concerns, the LGBTQIA+ community, ethnic minorities and senior citizens.

- Treatment related to current legal issues
- Consultation for educational planning (e.g., learning disability accommodations)
- Assistance with substance misuse, abuse or dependency
- Psychological evaluation or testing for the purposes of accommodations or special education privileges in schools or any legal situations, under any circumstance.*
*If learning problems are not central to the evaluation but might be included in the picture, we may provide information about the strengths and weaknesses of the individual’s abilities, rule out any other factors and suggest learning strategies.
