Affordable Care for the Community
At the Center Clinic, we believe that high-quality mental health care should be accessible and affordable. We offer reduced-fee services on a sliding scale based on income, helping ensure that cost is not a barrier to receiving treatment.
In some cases, additional fee reductions may be available for individuals participating in multiple services (such as individual and group therapy) or when treatment recommendations include more than one session per week.
Fees can be discussed with your treating therapist at any point during treatment. Late payments and payment plans are discussed individually with your treating clinician.
- Payment Options
Patients receive a monthly bill from their treating clinician at the end of each month. Payment is due within two weeks and may be made by:
- Check (payable to The George Washington University)
- Cash (exact amount only; we are unable to provide change)
- Credit Cards (via an online payment portal)
We do not accept money orders.
If mailing a payment, please include a copy of your bill to ensure prompt processing and accurate crediting. Questions about fees, late payments, or payment plans can be discussed with your treating clinician
- Payment & Appointment Policies
To provide consistent and effective care for all clients, we ask that both new and returning patients follow our appointment procedures and payment policies. These guidelines help up maintain continuity of treatment and ensure that clinic resources remain available to those who need them.

- Insurance
The Center Clinic does NOT accept insurance. However, because our services are offered on a sliding-fee scale, the cost of treatment is often lower than many insurance co-pays.
Some clients choose to submit claims to their insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so we encourage you to contact your insurance company directly to determine eligibility.
- Psychological Assessment Fees
For psychological assessments, one-half of the total fee is due at the first testing appointment. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the evaluation, typically at the feedback session when results and recommendations are reviewed.
- Appointment & Cancellation Policy
The Center Clinic has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Payment will be required for cancellations not made 24 hours in advance. Clients are welcome to reschedule appointments in advance at no charge.
These policies help ensure that appointment times remain available for clients who need them.
